Twice Transformed

During the first renovation, the entire house was restored and updated with new mechanical and electrical systems, bathrooms, a gourmet kitchen featuring concrete countertops, and a large screen porch with water views. A contemporary living room and master bedroom wing were also added.

The second renovation, led by Christopher Pattey of the Becker Morgan Group, occurred after the home had been purchased by new owners who wished to add a four-car garage and a two-bedroom, two-bath guest cottage. Extreme care was taken to ensure that all the structures on the property were in keeping with the architectural style of the main house. Materials such as cedar shakes for the roofs and board & batten siding milled specially to match the original house achieved the desired stylistic and visual cohesion. A new pool and relaxing pool cabana were also added.

Reclaimed materials were used throughout the property and add a uniquely elegant character to the structures. Salvaged barn siding was installed on the cathedral ceilings in the family room, screened porch, and the pool cabana, and were also used for the construction of the exercise room and wet bar cabinetry. A reclaimed mantle adds warmth and textural interest in the family room, while in the master bath, vintage dining tables serve as vanities for the vessel sinks that sit across from a custom stainless steel tub.
